Welcome to the Boca Raton foot health practice of Dr. Stephan A. Silva. With more than 30 years of practice in South Florida, Dr. Silva is an experienced podiatrist. Dr. Silva did his undergraduate studies at St John’s University, School of Pharmacy and completed his graduate studies at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Silva also has special training in Regenerative Medicine, Wound Care, and Diabetic Limb Salvage.

Top Treatments That I Use for Patients Regularly

Wound Care

You only require a mild antiseptic like hydrogen peroxide and a bandage for simple wounds. Other wounds, however, need specialized wound care.  

Dr. Silva has specialized training to treat and care for every kind of wound, whether the wound is severe or chronic. He understand the skin's natural healing abilities and how to manipulate them to speed healing. Treatment depends on the nature of the wound and the circumstances regarding the injury.

Treatment of Diabetic Neuropathy

Diabetic Neuropathy refers to nerve damage caused by diabetes.  This condition can affect several types of nerves in the body, including the feet, organs and muscles.  Diabetic neuropathy has no cure, but many treatments are available to relieve the condition's symptoms.

Orthotic Therapy

Orthotic therapy focuses on designing and fitting braces to various parts of the body to improve function. Some conditions orthotics are used for include sports injuries, diabetes, and ankle, knee, and back pain. Orthotics can also be used as customized shoe inserts to stabilize the foot.

Stem Cell Therapy

Produced by the bone marrow, stem cells are special cells that can turn into different blood cells. Stem cell transplant involves replacing unhealthy blood cells with stem cells from the blood or bone marrow. It treats conditions where the bone marrow cannot function properly.
